Welcome to the Winter Pentathlon

9th-11th February, 2023 · St Moritz & Celerina, Switzerland

The Winter Pentathlon: an unparalleled winter sporting extravaganza, testing athletes’ athletic and mental endurance across five Olympic disciplines.

#1 Monobob.

Experience riding the world’s only all-natural bobsleigh course in the birthplace of the monobob and the bobsleigh. The 19 gravity-defying turns across 1722m from St Moritz to Celerina expose athletes to extreme forces and speeds.

#2 Cross-Country Skiing.

Traverse 9.1km from Celerina to St Moritz Bad. This route starts at the historic 15th century church, San Gian, and takes you up 159m through alpine forests and lakes to Forum Paracelsus.

#3 Ski Mountaineering.

Ascend on skis and skins around 350m from the foot of Piz Surlej to the Hahnensee, located at 2,153 meters above sea level. The course will require you to overcome various obstacles and navigate different terrains, as is the case in ski mountaineering, one of the newest Olympic winter disciplines.

#4 Giant Slalom.

Navigate 38 giant slalom gates which take you down the piste from the Hahnensee back to St Moritz Bad and then down to the frozen Lej da San Murrezan.

#5 Skijöring.

Be pulled 1350m on skis behind a specially trained race horse on the frozen lake of St Moritz. This one-time Olympic event was pioneered in the Engadin and is still fiercely competed by a group of adventurous individuals to this very day.
